Invitation: Lappie Hike
Our next Lappie get together is a hike at Bidjigal Reserve, Baulkham Hills, on Saturday 28th April. This location is stunningly beautiful, you won't believe that you are in the middle of Greater Sydney. There are natural fresh water creeks running throughout and pre-historic looking ferns and trees. As the walking tracks go into a small canyon, the temperature is generally 5-8 degrees cooler than in the surrounding area.
For those interested in training their Lappie in backpacking, we will have an assortment of backpacks for you to try on your Lappie for sizing (not to wear on the day, as this requires training at home first). You can then confidently buy online, after determining the appropriate size for your Lappie.
Information
Meet at Ted Horwoods reserve carpark by 7:30am. Bring water for yourself and your Lappie. Enclosed walking shoes are needed for this terrain. As the tracks are narrow, it's best to have no more than 1-2 Lappies per hiker. A reasonable level of fitness is required, however 5-8 year old children have successfully completed this hike with us previously. Dogs must be kept on lead at all times. There is mobile phone reception.
