Help us at the Dog Lovers Show
For many of you, the first time you met a Lappie was at the Sydney Dog Lovers Show. The Finnish Lapphund Club of NSW has attended this wonderful dog loving event since inception, sharing the Lappie Love with Sydneysiders. Now is your time to give back, by assisting at our 2018 stand!
What is involved?
The Sydney Dog Lovers Show is on Saturday 4th August and Sunday 5th August at Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park. The event opens to the general public at 9:30am, and concludes at 5pm each day.
We need volunteers to assist with manning the stand, and assisting to set up, and pack up.
Helping on the stand
To assist on the stand, we ask for a minimum 4 hour commitment, on either day. Your Lappie should be over 4 months of age (at the time of the event), fully vaccinated, and be toilet trained.
Your Lappie will be sitting on a table made comfortable with bedding, with you standing behind them and holding their leash. Members of the general public will pat, cuddle and interact with your Lappie, while asking questions about the breed and ownership. Don't be concerned about not being able to answer any questions, experienced Lappie owners will be there to assist.
Your Lappie and yourself will be provided with regular breaks throughout the day. Your Lappie can relax in a crate at the rear of our stand, while you get lunch and check out the other great stands.
Volunteers receive a pass for free entry to the show. There is ample parking, and the club will reimburse your parking fee. Toiletting dogs is stress free with easy access to a lovely park. And human toilets and food vendors are nearby.
Helping with set up or pack up
It's not glamorous, but it is integral- setting up our stand, and packing up.
Set up will be on Friday 3rd August, from 11am to 1pm. You would be helping with taking gear from cars, to our stand location, and setting up our beautiful stand. The show organisers provide trollies for easy transportation of heavy items.
Pack up will be on Sunday 5th August, from 5pm to 6pm. Many hands make light work! Perhaps you could volunteer to assist on the stand for a few hours prior, and then stay to assist with packing up.

If you are able to assist, please fill out the form on the event page, by selecting the 'register' button. Volunteers will be supplied with a PDF induction info pack containing further, specific information about the event.
